Freedom of Expression: Johan Galtung on Julian Assange
Prof. Johan Galtung, founder of the academic discipline of Peace Studies and laureate of the Right Livelihood Award (aka The Alternative Nobel Prize) is one of over 500 of the world’s leading human rights experts, Nobel Prize winners and academics to have signed an open letter pointing to how the UK and Sweden are undermining the UN’s human rights system. The letter states: “The governments of Sweden and the United Kingdom are setting a dangerous precedent that undermines the United Nations human rights system as a whole.” In this Radio Interview with Radio Sputnik (Russia), Prof. Johan Galtung speaks on why he signed the letter.
