S.I.C.A : Working Group on Solution Indicative Conflict Analysis
In this working-group, participants get an opportunity to work with Prof. Galtung, Geopolitical Research Fellow Naakow Grant-Hayford and G-I Junior Research Fellow Keil Eggers as part of the Solution-Indicative Conflict Analysis working Group (S.I.C.A). The work created in this group will be integrated into the Octagon Project supervised by Prof. Galtung. There will be a global focus based on a translevel (mega, macro, meso, micro), transborder and transdisciplinary epistemological approach. The overriding purpose of this working group is to generate concrete, constructive and practical nonviolent policy-solutions to current violent conflicts. N.B: „Our loyalties as researchers are to life, humanity and to the integrity of the ecosystem. Not to state, capital and ideological or intellectual traditions.“ Summary: Two practical things FIRST: we will pursue a „Global Peace Studies“ perspective within the octagon framework under the direction of Prof. Galtung. SECONDLY: we will move through topical areas of focus- Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Asia applying the S.I.C.A framework with Naakow Grant-Hayford and Keil Eggers. Work will mainly revolve around fastpaced monthly Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Therapy analysis of current macro-conflict formations. This is solution-indicative peace research. Essentially, you will progressively be working on improving S.I.C.A in theory and practice (DESK STUDIES) and learn an enormous amount and acquire an important set of skills highly relevant to your professional ambitions during this remote-studies framework of the Galtung-Institut.
