Welcome to our community: How do you define PEACE?

Peace can be examined in two facets, namely inner peace and outer peace.
Inner peace can be defined as a person’s state of calm, an inner quality that derives out of their values, their experiences and influences from their environment.

Outer peace is the ability to live with others harmoniously, interacting with others inspite of differences between an individuals and others in their community.

Peace can also be looked at as that holistic foundation within a given society that is promoted by a state of good governance, democratic electoral processes, respect for the rule of law and a commitment to realize human rights and dignity for citizenry within a given state.

Peace has often described as an abstract theme that acquires different meanings and interpretations that are related to a persons perceptions, experiences and challenges at any given time within a given environment.

Peace is often something people do not pay attention to unless it is lost as is the case in terms of war, unrest and other social upheavals.

Peace is therefore a prerequisite to the overall well being of an individual and can lead to meaningful progress.
