Welcome to our community: How do you define PEACE?

In the realm of Global Schemes, I do agree with Galtung’s View in the way that Peace is on the one hand Politics and on the other a Dynamic Situation in which the creative potential of the people involved in the conflict can be set free and in which the degree of violence gets reduced.

For me personally, peace has a very spiritual dimension. A state of pure awareness and love… peace! 🙂

How did you find this community?

I found this community via online research – I am writing my Master Thesis about "Transcending Global Conflicts through creativity using the example of the work by Ousmane Sembène" and therefore I am very interested in and keen on reading Johan Galtung's texts about Global Conflicts/ Peace Theory and the possibility for creativity.

Do you have any professional experience in the field of peace-research? peace-studies? peace-practice?

I am enrolled in the Master’s Program “Empowerment Studies” (former: “Social Work in Globalized Societies”) in Düsseldorf, Germany and am writing a Thesis about Transcending Conflicts through Creativity.
I am also working with young teenagers with conflicted backgrounds.
Spiritually, I am practicing peace through meditation.

Are you at all familiar with concepts of Nonviolence and Conflict Transformation?

Yes, I am currently reading Galtung’s “The Other Globalization”.

What are your primary conceptual interests and concerns

To find out about how to establish peace. In the home, in small groups, in societies, and in the end, in the world. The role that creativity/the Arts can take on for Peace interests me very much as I am also a trained actor.
